Everyone wants to be slim, fit and healthy. Even those who don’t take the necessary steps towards a healthy lifestyle — with a proper diet and exercise — complain about how much they want to be thinner and fitter.
Too few people follow through with their lofty fitness dreams and desires but for those who do, there are plenty of options out there.
As our work days get seemingly longer, finding time to fit a workout routine into every 24-hour day gets harder, never mind hiring a trainer or going to the gym six days a week. However, there are options — and there have been for quite some time now. We’ve all seen them, annoyingly displayed on Sunday morning TV infomercials. We watch them, half paying attention while we scarf down homemade pancakes slathered in maple syrup with bacon, eggs and maybe some fruit to make the plate look pretty.
Fitness trainer Tony Horton, creator of “P90X Extreme Training System,” will serve as Race Marshal and will lead an open, pre-race warm-up for 5K participants on race day.
“I’m thrilled to be here in our nation’s capital kicking off this 2010 National Press Club 5K race because I’m a huge fan of endurance sports, the thrill of competition, and sweaty people,” Horton said.
Gone are the days when you could spend an hour in the weight room and another 30 minutes doing cardio. With kids, there’s just no time to even drive to the gym, let alone workout for more than 20 minutes. But by using the most convenient exercise equipment available – your own bodyweight – you can burn belly fat fast. And you can get your muscle definition back with simple bodyweight exercises.
So, you can forget the fancy machines, expensive gym memberships, or sharing equipment with sweaty strangers. You can forget about not spending enough time with your wife or kids. You can do this workout when you wake up or before you go to sleep. You can do this bodyweight training circuit at home before or after work. You can even close your office door and do this entire workout while everyone else is out for lunch.
